The Brief
The Rug Loft at Franks is based in Dundalk, Ireland and are a family run business selling rugs and floor covering for the last 40 years. Recently they decided to set up a specialized department concentrating on rugs. They deal with all top brands from around the world and travel extensively to view and hand pick new ranges. They carry over 1000 rugs in stock at any one time and currently have the largest showroom in Ireland. In September 2019, The Rug Loft approached ZOMA to help bring their business online. Straight away we knew Shopify was the best e-commerce platform for them and within a year we had the Rug Loft established as Ireland's leading online rug store.
Our Approach
With a large product catalogue and a range of styles, colours and price ranges we recommended the Warehouse theme, a Shopify theme purpose-built for large inventory, high-volume stores. Packed with a great range of features like predictive search, subscription popups, and being able to display the product quantity in stock, with the latter a subjective trick to boost conversions since people tend to purchase products that sell well. The large live search bar with a drop-down menu is a great way for people to find what they need in a large inventory store. It is a plus point for conversions. With all products grouped on collection pages by color swatches and price ranges, it's very easy for a customer to find a rug in the colour they want and within their budget.
Our visual director developed a portfolio of video and imagery to be used on the website and socials, including a showroom video to showcase their huge product offering. Link to showroom video.
With the site live we developed a digital marketing strategy for The Rug Loft including Google Ads (Text & Display), Retargeting Ads, Social Media Ads and Automated Email Campaigns. In 2020, The Rug Loft seen an increase of 9600% on online sales compared to 2019, not including the huge amount of walk-in traffic and in-store purchases from their digital marketing success.
ZOMA also helped The Rug Loft secure the Business Retail Grant from Enterprise Ireland worth €50,000 and the Trading Online Voucher and Trading Online Voucher top-up from the Local Enterprise Office.
