The Brief
With a blend of the natural stone and beautifully carved wood, Callan's Bar & Restaurant gives a homely relaxed feeling to all those who visit. This was a vibe we wanted to portray in the website design.
One vital requirement of having a successful website is creating a positive user experience while maintaining the eye-candy end goal. Restaurants achieve this by utilizing top-notch photography and design to entice users to visit and give their menu a try. With the lock-down having a huge effect on the hospitality industry and the way they operate, developing an online revenue stream through a takeaway ordering system and sale of gift cards was important for Callan's to adapt to new demands of the market.
Our Approach
To create the rich, comforting feeling of Callan's Bar & Restaurant, including the blend of the natural stone, slate and beautifully carved wood, we created a colour palette consisting of dark grey, gold and white to contrast. Our photographer developed eye-candy to get any taste-buds tingling for both the site and table menus. With Wix's specialist platform for restaurants it was an easy choice for which platform to use.
Bringing the images, colours and content together we kept the site simple and easy to navigate for users. We also added an e-commerce function to the site for sale of gift vouchers and a table booking system allowing customers to book their table in advance.
We also helped Callan's Bar secure the Trading Online Voucher from the Local Enterprise Office.
