How do you reinvent a brand to be a leader in the Irish communications & tech industry?
The Viatel Group is Ireland’s leading independent provider of connectivity, cloud and security solutions. With over 20 years of experience of innovation within the industry and with the acquisitions of several firms in recent years, the Viatel group now caters for over 4,000 businesses and 28,000 residential customers in Ireland.
As one of Ireland’s fastest growing tech companies Viatel needed a brand that reflected their ambitions looking towards the future. The idea for a new and improved brand identity to reflect Viatel’s position in the market was born. Our brief was to rebrand Viatel from the ground up including brand research, brand strategy, a new visual identity system, a brand communications toolkit, brand guidelines, a full brand rollout and the ux/ui design of their global website.

Delivering brand performance for Viatel
We began by conducting brand strategy workshops, strategic business interviews and both qualitative and quantitative customer research to get clearer insights into Viatel’s clients and provide the company with affirmation of key strategic decisions. We also gathered inspiration from both world leading tech companies and new emerging tech companies to identify the most impressive styles and features of their brands.
Our mission was to creatively encapsulate the fast-paced and innovative tech and communication space. Reflecting the simplistic nature of Viatel’s solutions, we opted to use a minimal and sleek logotype while still maintaining the existing brand colour scheme of violet, white and grey. We also ensured that the rebrand was visible across all of our collaborations with Viatel.
